LAICO’s EYEXCEL Course to Develop Capacity in Eye Care Organizations
August 11–14, 2010, Lions Aravind Institute of Community Ophthalmology (LAICO) “EYEXCEL - Expanding Global Eye Care Workforce through Excellence in Training” course in collaboration with the ICO. This four-day training program aims to develop the capacity for in eye care organizations to deliver quality training programs on a regular basis.
This course is for institutions currently offering or planning to offer training courses. Registrants should be a team of two representing each institution, to ensure that ideas generated in the training workshop will be established in the institution. XVIII Pan-American Regional Course
August 19-21, 2010
The Costa Rica Association of Ophthalmology will co-host the XVIII Pan-American Regional Course with the Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology. It will highlight the latest developments in medical and surgical retina, cataract surgery and its complications, glaucoma, refractive surgery and neuro-ophthalmology, among others.

2011 Post Graduate Diploma in Community Eye Health, Capetown, South Africa
The Community Eye Health at the Community Eye Health Institute (CEHI) in Capetown, South Africa will begin January 31, 2011 and the application deadline is October 31, 2010. This course will facilitate the implementation of Vision 2020 in countries in sub-Saharan Africa by offering appropriate training in community eye health to people working in blindness prevention programs. The MSc in Community Eye Health is designed to provide eye care professionals and planners with the knowledge and skills to reduce blindness and visual disability, in keeping with the aims, priorities and strategies of the Vision 2020 initiative.
